Job Summary
We are seeking a professional and reliable Truck Driver to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely transporting goods across various routes, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism. Experience with flatbed and commercial driving is highly desirable, along with a strong commitment to customer service and adherence to road safety regulations.
Duties
- Operate curtain sided lorries and other commercial vehicles to deliver goods efficiently across designated routes
- Ensure all cargo is securely loaded and properly balanced before transit
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues promptly
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs in compliance with company policies
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company procedures during transit
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery schedules or any unforeseen delays
- Assist with loading and unloading goods when necessary, ensuring careful handling of all items
- Keep the vehicle clean and well-maintained to ensure operational safety and efficiency
Qualifications
- Valid driving licence suitable for operating lorries and commercial vehicles
- Proven experience as a delivery driver, preferably with flatbed or similar specialised vehicles
- Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices in commercial driving
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to plan efficient routes
- Good communication skills for liaising with clients and team members
- Ability to work independently, demonstrating reliability and punctuality
- Prior experience in delivery driver roles is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided where necessary
