We are currently seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Assistant Manager to join our team in Greenwich.

The Role
As Assistant Manager, you will work closely with the General Manager to oversee the day-to-day operation of the venue, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, strong financial performance, and a positive team culture.
You will lead by example on the floor, support the development of your team, and help deliver Davy's high standards of food, wine, and service.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the General Manager in the day-to-day running of the business.
- Lead, coach, and motivate the front-of-house team to deliver exceptional customer service.
- Ensure all guests receive a warm welcome and an outstanding experience.
- Assist in managing staffing levels, rotas, and labour costs.
- Support recruitment, training, and ongoing development of team members.
- Help drive sales through effective service, product knowledge, and upselling techniques.
- Maintain excellent standards of food safety, cleanliness, and venue presentation.
- Monitor stock levels, assist with ordering, stock control, and stocktakes.
- Oversee private bookings, events, and corporate functions.
- Maintain compliance with licensing regulations, company policies, and health and safety procedures.
- Support financial controls, including cash handling, banking, and daily reporting.
What We're Looking For Essential
- Previous supervisory or management experience within a busy hospitality environment.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to inspire and develop a team.
- Passion for delivering outstanding customer service.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Good understanding of stock control, labour management, and venue operations.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and key trading periods.
Desirable
- Experience working within a wine bar, restaurant, or premium hospitality venue.
- Knowledge and appreciation of wine and food pairing.
- Personal Licence Holder.
- Experience managing private dining, events, and corporate bookings.
- WSET qualification or a desire to undertake wine training.
