We're looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Commis Chef to join our busy café kitchen. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys cooking with fresh, seasonal ingredients and wants to develop their career in a supportive environment. You'll work alongside our experienced chefs, gaining hands-on experience in all aspects of the kitchen, with genuine opportunities to take on more responsibility and even run the kitchen during holiday cover. Best of all, there are no evening shifts!
What you'll be doing:
- Preparing and cooking fresh dishes to a consistently high standard.
- Supporting the day-to-day running of the kitchen, from food preparation through to service.
- Maintaining excellent cleanliness, organisation and food hygiene standards.
- Working as part of the team during busy service and confidently leading the kitchen during chef holiday cover.
What we're looking for:
- Previous experience in a café, restaurant or catering kitchen, with the confidence to prepare and cook dishes independently.
- A positive, organised and reliable team player who works well under pressure.
- A passion for fresh, seasonal and locally sourced food.
- Level 2 Food Safety qualification is desirable, although training can be provided.

Further details:
- Permanent year-round position, 5 shifts per week, 8 hours per day.
- Café opening hours: 9.00am – 5.00pm.
- Must be available during most of the school holidays and at least one weekend day a week.
- Starting pay: £13.50 per hour.
- Immediate start available.
