Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Nursery Practitioner to join our early childhood education team. The successful candidates will be responsible for providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young children, supporting their developmental needs through engaging activities and personalised care. This role offers an excellent opportunity to make a positive impact on children's lives. Applicants should have relevant nursery experience, a L3 qualification and a genuine interest in early childhood education. This post is 40 hours weekly on a rota between 7.30 and 6.00.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver age-appropriate activities that promote children's physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development
- Supervise children during playtime, mealtimes, and rest periods ensuring their safety at all times
- Foster a warm, welcoming environment that encourages children’s independence and confidence
- Maintain accurate records of children's progress and daily routines
- Support colleagues in implementing the nursery’s policies and procedures
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's development and daily experiences
- Assist with organising nursery events and activities to enrich the children's learning experience
Qualifications
- Proven experience working with children within a nursery or early childhood setting
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and childcare regulations
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while demonstrating initiative
- Childcare qualifications recognised by relevant authorities (e.g., Level 3 Early Years Practitioner) are preferred
- Passionate about working with children and committed to their well-being and development
