About the Role
Bowen Education is looking for a responsible and enthusiastic volunteer to support the daily running of our Sunday Chinese School. This placement is suitable for anyone interested in education, teaching, childcare or school management.
Main Responsibilities
* Assist teachers with lesson preparation and classroom activities.
* Support children individually or in small groups.
* Help manage classroom routines and student behaviour.
* Supervise students during breaks and lesson transitions.
* Assist with registration, attendance and general administration.
* Welcome parents and students and respond to general enquiries.
* Help organise school activities, performances and cultural events.
* Follow the school’s safeguarding, confidentiality and health and safety procedures.
* Report any student welfare or safeguarding concerns promptly.
Requirements
* Responsible, patient, organised and reliable.
* Interested in working with children and young people.
* Good communication and teamwork skills.
* Confident communicating in English.
* Available on Sundays throughout the 32-week placement.
* Mandarin or Cantonese skills are desirable but not essential.
* Previous experience with children is helpful but not required.
* Willing to complete safeguarding training and an Enhanced DBS check.

Expenses and Lunch
This is an unpaid voluntary placement. Reasonable travel expenses will be reimbursed up to £20 per Sunday, subject to the school’s volunteer expenses policy. Lunch will also be provided.
