We offer a comprehensive range of metal finishing services including electro-plating, Anodising, Phosphating, Powder Coating and much more. Silchrome currently supply a wide range of coatings to the Aerospace, Automotive, Domestic, Decorative, Industrial, Military etc.
The company is recruiting a Technical Laboratory Assistant to work with our Technical team.
The day to day of the job will involve titration analysis of plating solutions, monitoring our effluent plant system to meet consent limits.
Due to the nature of the chemicals involved with some of our processes, working within strict health and safety procedures is crucial and alongside this ensuring good housekeeping within the factory is also a must.
You will expand the experience of both our technologies and chemical and physical processes of coatings. Complete projects by developing action plans, giving recommendations regarding the products and processes, reporting to the Production Manager.
Key Responsibilities
· Ensuring plating solutions are within process specification.
· Working alongside our Technical team to ensure the Effluent Treatment Plant is managed and maintained to ensure compliance.
· Formulating and introducing approved formulas and testing specifications for new or modified products by the outlined laboratory procedures.
· You will be required to perform plating operations as and when required by production.
Qualifications
A Level in chemistry, BSC or Master’s degree in chemistry/chemical engineering
1 or more years of experience in a laboratory sector preferred
Personal Requirements:
· Excellent excel skills.
· Reliable in time keeping and attendance.
· Hard working conscientious & enjoys physical work.
· Willing to work overtime when required.
· Driving license
· Non-smoker.

07:45-16:30 Monday to Thursday
07:45-15:00 Friday
After a 3-month probationary period being employed you shall be enrolled into the company pension scheme.
