We require a Van Driver to complete week day delivery rounds to Butchers, Farm Shops & Restaurants in London, Leicestershire and other parts of the country and then also deliver to our weekly London Farmers Markets on one day over a weekend. You will also run a market stall at one of these farmers Markets and sell our produce at this stall.
This is an active, and varied role, that will require work in our abattoir and/or production room on at least one of the working days.
You must be available to work on an any 5 from 7 shift pattern, 40+ hours per week, with expectation to work at weekends
Shift start times will vary but range from 4am starts to 6am starts
Key Responsibilities:-
Driving & Deliveries
- Drive a 3.5t van to deliver products to customers, wholesale partners, and markets.
- Navigate city routes confidently (including London) while maintaining excellent customer service.
- Load and unload vehicles safely, maintaining cold chain integrity at all times.
- Complete delivery paperwork, temperature checks, and vehicle logs accurately.
- Maintain a clean, tidy, and well-presented vehicle.
Vehicle Checks & Maintenance
- Carry out daily vehicle checks including tyres, lights, fluids, fuel, and general roadworthiness.
- Report any defects, damage, or maintenance needs immediately to the Operations Manager.
- Ensure vehicles are kept clean inside and out, including regular sanitising of load areas.
- Support scheduled servicing, MOTs, and repairs by coordinating with management and external garages.
- Maintain accurate vehicle records, mileage logs, and compliance documentation.
London Market Operations
- Drive to London markets and assist with stall setup, stock organisation, and customer service.
- Engage positively with customers, representing Fosse Meadows’ values and high-welfare ethos.
- Dismantle the stall at the end of the day and return stock/equipment to the farm.
Abattoir & Production Support
- Assist in the on‑farm abattoir two mornings per week (training provided).
- Prepare, portion, and pack chicken and poultry products for retail and wholesale.
- Operate Avery scales and follow labelling, weighing, and traceability procedures.
- Maintain high hygiene standards with a clean‑as‑you‑go approach.

We are a free-range chicken farm in Leicestershire putting the welfare and flavour back into chicken, a million miles from your factory farmed fowl. We sell to some of the UK’s best restaurants and butchers and run stalls at Farmers markets.

Requirements:
- Clean UK driver’s license with 5 years driving experience
- Experience of excellent customer service – understanding customers needs and willing to go the extra mile.
- Able to start work early mornings and long days
- Previous delivery experience (preferable)
- Previous sales experience (preferable)
- Cash handling experience
