Security Officer – (Cardiff)

Job Overview
StoneFell Ltd is seeking a professional, reliable and vigilant Security Officer to provide security services at Cardiff. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment, controlling site access, conducting patrols, monitoring CCTV systems, and responding appropriately to incidents and emergencies.
This is a lone-working position on a busy commercial site and requires an individual who is trustworthy, self-motivated, and capable of working independently while maintaining high professional standards.
Shift Pattern:
- 12-hour shifts (Days and Nights)
- 4-on / 4-off rotation
- Approximately 15–16 shifts per month
- 22 days paid annual leave per year
- Double time paid on Bank Holidays
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular internal and external patrols of the site.
- Control access and verify the identity of visitors, contractors and authorised personnel.
- Monitor CCTV, alarm systems and site security equipment.
- Complete detailed occurrence reports, patrol logs and handover records.
- Respond promptly and professionally to incidents, alarms, emergencies and security concerns.
- Carry out routine security checks of buildings, gates, fences and critical infrastructure.
- Liaise with site management, emergency services and StoneFell management when required.
- Ensure all site procedures, assignment instructions and health & safety requirements are followed at all times.
- Maintain a visible security presence and provide excellent customer service to site staff and visitors.
Essential Requirements
- Valid SIA Security Guarding (SG) or Door Supervisor (DS) Licence.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
- Professional appearance and strong work ethic.
- Reliable, punctual and trustworthy.
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in industrial, commercial or corporate security.
- CCTV monitoring experience.
- First Aid qualification.
- Familiarity with electronic reporting systems and security technology.
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
