Painter and Decorator
Permanent 37.5 hours per week
Shift Pattern: Monday – Friday
£ 18 per hour
Elder Homes Ltd is a family-owned company operating two high-quality nursing and care homes in the Morningside area of Edinburgh. Our dedicated on-site Facilities & Maintenance Team is currently seeking to recruit a Painter & Decorator to assist our Maintenance team within our care homes and other properties.
Working on a range of different tasks, you must be a positive individual with good communication skills and the ability to organise your time effectively and complete tasks on time.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and filling holes and cracks
- Apply paint, varnish, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment
- Measure and cut wallpaper accurately, ensuring seamless application
- Maintain a clean and organised work area
- Follow safety procedures and use protective equipment as required
- Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively with clients
- Ensure all work meets high-quality standards and client satisfaction
Requirements:
- Relevant qualification and proven experience as a Painter and Decorator
- Ability to confidently apply high-quality wallpaper
- Proficient in using painting and decorating tools and techniques
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Physical stamina and the ability to work on ladders and scaffolding
- Full clean driver’s license essential.

Candidate Requirements:
You must be able to demonstrate excellent communication and team working skills, together with the ability to take a flexible approach to your work. Fluent English language skills are required. Successful applicants will be subject to a PVG check and satisfactory references.
