Caval Recruitment are working on behalf of our long standing, well established engineering client in Barnsley who are looking to recruit an experienced Welder Fabricator for a permanent day shift position. This is an excellent opportunity to join a secure and growing business offering great rates of pay and regular overtime at enhanced rates.
The role will involve MIG welding and fabrication of mild steel components, working from detailed engineering drawings and job specifications. You will be responsible for cutting, drilling, tacking, welding, assembling and finishing fabricated parts to a high standard. The position is based in a busy workshop environment producing medium to heavy engineering products.
Key duties will include fabrication directly from drawings, MIG welding to a high standard, use of saws, hand tools and general workshop equipment, carrying out quality checks, and maintaining high standards of health and safety at all times.
Applicants must be time served or hold a recognised welding or fabrication qualification. You must be fully competent in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and able to work independently with minimal supervision. Previous experience in a manufacturing or heavy engineering environment is essential.
This role offers permanent employment, a competitive hourly rate of 16.50 to 20.00 per hour depending on experience, overtime paid at enhanced rates, long term job security and a supportive team environment.
