Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Play Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about engaging children in creative and safe play activities, fostering their development and ensuring a positive environment. This role offers an opportunity to work with children of various ages, supporting their social, emotional, and physical growth through organised play and educational activities. The position is paid and suitable for individuals who enjoy working with children and possess excellent communication skills in English; knowledge of French is a plus.
Duties
- Organise and supervise play activities that promote social interaction, creativity, and physical activity among children.
- Ensure the safety of all children during playtime by monitoring their behaviour and the environment.
- Support children's emotional well-being by encouraging inclusive play and resolving minor conflicts.
- Assist with the planning and implementation of educational programmes tailored to different age groups.
- Maintain a clean and organised play area, ensuring all equipment is safe and in good condition.
- Engage with children in both structured activities and free play, adapting to their individual needs.
- Collaborate with parents, carers, and other staff members to support children's overall development.
- Drive children to or from designated locations if required, ensuring safe transportation practices are followed.
Experience
- Previous experience in childcare, nannying, teaching, or working as a Play Worker is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates.
- Experience in driving children or transporting them safely is advantageous.
- Fluency in English is required; proficiency in French is considered a valuable asset.
- Knowledge of child development principles and safety regulations related to childcare settings is preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues in a professional manner.
