PURPOSE OF ROLE: What are we looking for?
You'll plan, facilitate and deliver our youth work and schools programmes across
Antrim, hub nights, schools sessions, outdoor and arts-based work — as part of a
wider team that plans together and covers for each other.
We're looking for someone with genuine care for young people, a belief in what
they're capable of, and real experience of doing this well. Much of this post
focuses on young males, so you'll need to understand the pressures they're under
and how to build the kind of trusting, boundaried relationships that help. Local
knowledge of Antrim is a bonus, not a requirement — we'll help you build those
connections.
The work involves regular day and evening delivery. We cap evening work at two
nights a week, and we mean it.
Dreamscheme NI is a Christian organisation, and our work grows out of that. This
post is open to committed Christians who are actively involved in a church — a
Genuine Occupational Requirement under fair employment law. We work with
young people of all faiths and none.
KEY INFORMATION
● Hours: 30 hours per week
● Contract: Permanent
● Salary: £24,785 - £25,350 (£19,828 – £20,280 for 30 hrs)
● Location: Antrim (x2 Hubs, Antrim Town Centre, Parkhall)
● Expected start date: September 2026 (or as close to this)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
You'll need to:
1. Recruit and engage young people to take an active part in programme
activities, including organising outreach on the street and in local schools.
2. Build trusting, respectful relationships with young people, setting clear
boundaries and challenging inappropriate behaviour.
3. Deliver and contribute to our youth and schools programme, including
learning sessions, arts‐based work, community service, residential and
outdoor‐education experiences, and sports. There will also be a focus on
male‐focused projects for this post.
4. Create short-form media to assist in showcasing Dreamscheme's work.
5. Engage with the local community by building strong links with stakeholders
such as parents, social care, police, schools, and the local council.
6. Build strong, supportive team relationships with staff and volunteers.
7. Undertake organisational tasks, including evaluation, record‐keeping, writing
area updates, and supporting local fundraising initiatives.
