Job Summary
We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Yard Operative / Driver to join our growing waste and recycling operation. This is a varied, hands-on role based at our Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) / Waste Transfer Station (WTS), supporting the safe and efficient handling, treatment, and recovery of waste materials.
The role is primarily yard-based but also includes bulky waste collections from trade and domestic customer sites using a 3.5 tonne Luton van. Full training will be provided on plant operation, equipment use, and waste treatment processes.
Responsibilities
- Carry out general yard operative duties within the MRF/WTS environment
- Safely handle, sort, and process waste and recyclable materials
- Operate mobile plant and associated site equipment (training provided)
- Support waste treatment and material recovery operations
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping and health & safety on site
- Complete bulky waste collections from customer locations
- Drive a 3.5 tonne Luton van in a safe and professional manner
- Work collaboratively with site management and operational teams
Requirements
- Full clean UK driving licence essential
- Strong work ethic and willingness to work in an operational waste environment
- Ability to work safely and follow operational procedures
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Flexible and adaptable approach to work
Desirable Experience
- Previous experience working on a waste, recycling, MRF, or transfer station site
- Experience operating mobile plant or machinery
- Previous driving or collection experience
Pay: £25,096.60 per year
