Senior Support Worker
Full-time | 36 hours per week | £14.25 per hour
This isn’t just another care job.
At United Support Services, we don’t believe people with learning disabilities should simply be cared for.
We believe they should live extraordinary lives.
That means holidays, football, concerts, swimming, shopping trips, learning new skills, building friendships, trying new experiences and achieving goals that many people once thought weren’t possible.
Every day our team works alongside incredible people with learning disabilities and autism, supporting them to build lives filled with purpose, choice and opportunity.
We’re looking for an exceptional Senior Support Worker to help lead that journey.
Not someone who simply wants to complete tasks.
Someone who wants to inspire people.
Someone who wants to lead others.
Someone who wants to make every day count.
What you’ll be leading
As one of our Senior Support Workers, you’ll help shape the quality of support we provide every single day.
You’ll lead by example, coach and encourage your team, support Positive Behaviour Support approaches, promote independence, oversee safe medication practice, ensure high standards and help create opportunities that genuinely improve people’s lives.
No two days are ever the same.
One day you could be supporting someone to achieve a lifelong dream.
The next you could be coaching a member of staff to become the best support worker they’ve ever been.
You’ll probably be someone who…
- Naturally encourages and motivates others.
- Leads with kindness and confidence.
- Notices the small things that make a big difference.
- Believes people with disabilities deserve the same opportunities as everyone else.
- Enjoys solving problems.
- Wants to keep learning and developing.
- Isn’t satisfied with simply “getting through the shift.”
Why join United Support Services?
We’re a growing specialist supported living provider supporting adults with learning disabilities and autism in St Austell, Cornwall.
We’re proud to be different.
You’ll receive:
- Paid leadership development.
- Positive Behaviour Support training and ongoing coaching.
- Genuine influence over how our service develops.
- Direct support from approachable Directors who know every member of the team.
- Opportunities to progress as the organisation grows.
- Regular supervision, mentoring and professional development.
- The freedom to make decisions and have your ideas listened to.
- The chance to be part of a team that’s genuinely changing lives.
Is this role for you?
This role isn’t for everyone.
If you’re looking for a quiet job where you simply complete your shift and go home, we’re probably not the right fit.
But if you’re ambitious, enjoy leading people, believe in high-quality support and want to help build one of Cornwall’s most forward-thinking supported living providers, we’d love to hear from you.
Come and help us prove that extraordinary support creates extraordinary lives.
