Overview:
We are currently seeking an experienced Yard Foreman to join our team at Desi Building Material Supplies Ltd in a warehouse environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for daily operations in our warehouse and yard, ensuring materials are handled efficiently, safely, and accurately. This is a key leadership role requiring strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
Location: Mitcham
Hours: Monday to Friday, 7 AM - 5 PM; every other Saturday, 7 AM - 3 PM
Shift Days: Monday to Saturday
Start: ASAP
Responsibilities:
- Supervise yard staff and coordinate daily workload
- Operate forklifts to load/unload and move building materials
- Liaise with delivery drivers, customers, and suppliers
- Conduct basic maintenance of yard equipment - Ensure strict compliance with health and safety protocols
- Assist with shipping and receiving tasks as required
REQUIREMENTS:
- Previous experience as a Yard man or in a similar role
- Forklift license (preferred)
- Driving license (preferred)
- Strong organisational and leadership skills
- Mechanical knowledge of material handling equipment
- Mathematical skills for inventory counting and calculations - Comfortable performing physical tasks and lifting heavy loads - Good communication and basic computer skills
