Dispenser (Permanent) – Stow Health Centre
Stow & Lauder Health are looking for a motivated and reliable individual to join our friendly rural GP Practice Team. The role will mainly be dispensing duties, and, on occasion, Admin/Reception duties. This post is permanent - 19 hours/week (2 x days to be agreed) – but needs to be someone who can help out with cover for AL/SL etc.
We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills, a good IT knowledge, and a positive and organised approach to work. Previous dispensing experience is desirable. We offer a very friendly and supportive working environment.

Duties
- Dispense medications accurately and efficiently
- Prepare prescriptions by measuring, packaging, and labelling medicines in accordance with legal and safety standards
- Support medication administration processes, including verifying prescriptions and ensuring proper storage
- Provide excellent patient care by answering queries and offering guidance on medication usage under supervision
- Maintain accurate records of dispensed medicines and patient interactions
- Ensure the pharmacy environment adheres to health and safety regulations and cleanliness standards
- Assist with stock management, including inventory checks and reordering supplies as needed
- Support administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and updating patient records
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Dispenser or in a similar role is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of medication administration procedures and pharmacy software systems
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail to minimise errors
- Excellent communication skills for effective patient interaction and team collaboration
- Ability to work accurately under pressure within a fast-paced environment
- A recognised qualification or training in pharmacy practice is preferred but not essential
- Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to legal regulations regarding medicines management
