Post 16 Alternative Provision Coordinator
Do you want a job where you actually see young people get somewhere? At Aspire in Arts we work with young people who have often had a hard time in mainstream education, and we give them a safe, creative place to learn, grow and move forward. We are looking for a Post 16 Alternative Provision Coordinator to lead the day to day running of our Post-16 provision in Nuneaton.
About the role
You hold our Post-16 young people day to day. Once a young person joins the provision, you make sure they have a clear plan, are progressing towards their goals and qualifications, and feel supported, safe and engaged. You are the person who knows your young people best, and the day to day lead for the provision.
What you will be doing
- Completing wellbeing, skills and baseline assessments, and supporting individual learner plans, targets and progression pathways
- Leading the day to day running of the Post-16 provision and supporting the smooth running of sessions
- Monitoring attendance, punctuality, engagement and wellbeing, and putting support in place where young people are struggling
- Working closely with our Curriculum and Assessment Coordinator on qualifications, assessment and accreditation
- Keeping in regular contact with parents, carers and professionals, and producing learner reviews, progress reports and evidence for annual reviews
- Monitoring EHCP outcomes and attending EHCP reviews, Team Around the Family meetings and other multi-agency meetings
- Supporting delivery on the floor, covering sessions where needed, and guiding the youth workers in the provision
- Delivering and supporting our Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme during the school holidays
What we are looking for
Essential
- Experience of working with young people who have disengaged from education, including those with SEND or SEMH needs
- A good understanding of safeguarding and trauma-informed practice
- The ability to build strong, trusting relationships with young people and hold clear, consistent boundaries
- Organised and reliable, able to hold a caseload and keep accurate records and case notes
- Good written communication for reports, reviews and evidence
- Confident leading the day to day running of a provision and guiding sessional staff
Desirable
- A relevant qualification in youth work, education or a related field
- Knowledge of EHCPs and the annual review process
- Knowledge of Arts Award or other accreditation frameworks
- Full UK driving licence with access to own transport
