The Role
We are seeking a dedicated Alarm & CCTV Engineer to join our Security team. Based at our Birmingham site, the successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of CCTV and alarm systems across multiple locations, ensuring reliability, compliance, and high service standards.
This role is vital to maintaining our advanced security systems throughout the UK, helping to safeguard properties and support our mission of enhancing and protecting communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Install and commission CCTV and alarm systems
- Perform maintenance and fault-finding
- Ensure systems meet compliance standards
- Provide technical support to clients and internal teams
- Maintain accurate service records
Requirements
Essential:
- Minimum 2–3 years of hands-on experience installing, servicing, and fault-finding CCTV systems, intruder alarms, and basic access control.
- Understanding of basic IP configurations, digital network integration, and how router/mobile data networks connect to security systems.
- Ability to diagnose system faults alone on remote, often unpowered or cold vacant sites.
- A solid working grasp of regulatory standards for installation compliance.
- Flexibility to participate in an emergency on-call rota for breach alarms or broken equipment out-of-hours.
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable:
- Experience with rapid-deployment or wireless video verification tech
- Holding specialised health and safety cards or training tokens such as CSCS/ECS, IPAF or FIA certifications.
- Cross-training in Fire Alarm systems or basic electrical qualifications
- Comfortable providing quick, professional device orientations to temporary tenants, guardians, or building managers
