NOW HIRING: ROADSIDE TECHNICIANS
(Because apparently "Have you tried turning it off and on again?" isn't always enough…)
Are you the kind of person who gets excited by warning lights?
Do you find yourself diagnosing faults while everyone else is still scratching their heads?
Can you fix things in the pouring rain, at the side of a dual carriageway, while someone's Golden Retriever watches you like you're performing open-heart surgery?
Perfect.
You might just be our next Roadside Technician.
About the Job
Forget spotless workshops and endless cups of tea in the canteen.
This role is all about:
- Rain. Lots of rain.
- Darkness. Because breakdowns don't politely wait until daylight.
- Working on everything from nearly-new family cars to vans that really should have retired years ago.
- Crawling under vehicles in places your MOT instructor never prepared you for.
- Being greeted with the famous phrase: "It was working perfectly five minutes ago…"
- Becoming an expert in reassuring stressed customers while simultaneously diagnosing why their dashboard resembles a Christmas tree.
What You'll Do
- Rescue stranded motorists when their vehicle has other ideas.
- Diagnose faults using your technical expertise and modern diagnostic equipment.
- Carry out roadside repairs and aim for a first-time fix whenever possible.
- Recover vehicles locally when repairs just aren't possible.
- Keep customers informed, reassured and safe.
- Work closely with our workshops and recovery teams to get people back on the road as quickly as possible.
- Drink alarming quantities of tea and coffee while pretending you aren't tired.
What We're Looking For
- A qualified Vehicle Technician, Mechanic or experienced Roadside Technician.
- Excellent diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
- Experience working on cars and light commercial vehicles.
- A full UK Category B driving licence.
- Someone who stays calm while everyone else is panicking.
- A sense of humour. Trust us... you'll need one.
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent).
Bonus Points If You Have:
- Previous roadside assistance or recovery experience.
- Experience using modern vehicle diagnostic equipment.
- The ability to explain complicated mechanical failures without using the phrase,
- "Well... it's properly broken."
Perks of the Job
- A fully equipped roadside service vehicle.
- The latest diagnostic equipment and tools.
- Strong workshop and recovery support whenever you need it.
- Ongoing manufacturer and technical training.
- A job where no two days are ever the same.
- The satisfaction of getting people safely back on the road.
- Endless stories that begin with:
- "You'll never guess where I ended up today…"
