A welcoming primary school in Croydon is looking to appoint a caring and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated inclusion team. This is a fantastic opportunity to support pupils with a range of special educational needs and make a positive difference to their learning and development.
The Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to support pupils with a variety of additional needs, both in and out of the classroom. You will help to create a positive and inclusive learning environment, provide tailored support to enable pupils to access the curriculum, and encourage their social, emotional and academic development.
The role may involve supporting pupils on an individual basis, in small groups, or across different classes depending on the needs of the school. You will also assist with behaviour management, promote positive relationships, and help pupils build confidence and independence.
The Ideal Candidate
The school is seeking a patient, compassionate and proactive individual with a genuine passion for supporting children with special educational needs. Previous experience working in a school, nursery, care or support setting is desirable but not essential. The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator, able to build positive relationships with pupils and staff, and committed to helping every child reach their full potential.
This role would suit experienced SEN Teaching Assistants as well as graduates or those looking to develop a career in education or special educational needs.
The School
This friendly and inclusive primary school in Croydon is committed to providing a supportive learning environment where every child is encouraged to succeed. Staff work collaboratively to ensure pupils receive the individual support they need, and the school places a strong emphasis on wellbeing, inclusion and high-quality teaching.
The successful candidate will join a welcoming team, benefit from ongoing professional development, and have the opportunity to gain valuable experience within a supportive and rewarding school setting. The school is well served by public transport, with excellent bus links and nearby train stations making it easily accessible.
