Job Overview
Our projects involve the installation of district heating networks, utility infrastructure and associated civil engineering works across highways, residential developments and public sector environments.
The successful candidate will be responsible for operating tracked or wheeled excavators safely and efficiently on a variety of civil engineering and utility projects.
Works will regularly involve excavating within highways, around live underground services and in deep excavation environments.
Responsibilities
- Carry out excavation works in accordance with drawings, specifications and permit requirements.
- Excavate around live services using safe digging practices.
- Work alongside groundworkers, pipe layers and supervisory teams to deliver works safely and on programme.
- Carry out daily pre-start checks and routine maintenance inspections on plant.
- Ensure all excavation works comply with RAMS, permit systems and company procedures.
- Assist with lifting operations where appropriately trained and authorised.
- Maintain excellent standards of housekeeping, safety and environmental compliance.
- Report defects, hazards and site issues promptly to site management.
- Maintain detailed records of equipment usage, inspections, and maintenance activities
Qualifications
- Valid CPCS or NPORS Wheeled Excavator qualification.
- Proven experience operating wheeled excavators within civil engineering or utilities.
- Experience working within highways and around live underground services.
- Good understanding of safe excavation practices.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Lifting Ops.
Pay: From £23.00 per hour
Work Location: In person
