Groundsperson - Inverness

The Role...
This is a permanent position working between 30 - 40 hours per week, including alternate weekend working. Flexibility to work additional hours during peak seasons and busy periods will be required.
This is a varied outdoor role where you’ll support the day-to-day upkeep and maintenance of the garden centre grounds and surrounding areas. You’ll help ensure the site, car parks and outdoor spaces are kept clean, tidy, safe and well presented, creating a welcoming environment for customers and staff all year round.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintaining lawns, grassy areas, hedges and planted areas to a high standard
- Carrying out mowing, trimming, pruning and general grounds maintenance duties
- Keeping car parks, walkways and outdoor areas clean, tidy and free from debris
- Supporting weed control and general upkeep across the site
- Clearing snow and ice during winter months when required
- Carrying out general site tidying and minor maintenance tasks
- Using and maintaining groundskeeping equipment safely and correctly
- Providing excellent customer service in a customer-facing environment
- Following company health & safety procedures at all times
What We’re Looking For
- Previous grounds maintenance, landscaping or similar experience preferred
- Basic maintenance or handy person skills
- Knowledge of safe herbicide and chemical handling preferred
- Ability to operate groundskeeping equipment such as lawn mowers and hedge trimmers
- Strong attention to detail and proactive approach to work
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Reliable, punctual and hardworking
- Able to work independently and use initiative
- Friendly and approachable with good customer service skills
- Positive attitude and willingness to support different areas of the business

Pay: £8.00-£12.75 per hour
