Central Route is the Heart of Britain's Railway. More than a million people rely on our route every week, and we help transport nearly a million tonnes of freight every month. But we are more than just tracks and trains, we are a catalyst for jobs and opportunities, a connection to leisure and time with family and friends, and a foundation for communities and neighbourhoods.
We are a key part of the national network, with Birmingham New Street - the busiest station outside of London and the hub of the railway - connecting England, Scotland and Wales, with hundreds of services arriving and leaving every day.
As a Section Administrator within our Off-Track team, you'll be a valued member of a supportive and collaborative team, helping to keep operations organised, efficient, and running smoothly. Working closely with the Section Manager and colleagues across the section, you'll play an important role in ensuring the team has the information, resources, and administrative support it needs to succeed.
This is a varied role that offers plenty of opportunity to use your organisational skills, attention to detail, and initiative. You'll enjoy working across a range of activities, building strong relationships with colleagues, and taking pride in keeping processes running effectively behind the scenes.
Your responsibilities will include managing rosters and timesheets, maintaining accurate systems, databases, and records, and opening and closing work orders. You'll also support the administration of the assessment-in-line process and maintain well-organised filing systems, ensuring confidentiality is always upheld and safety-critical documentation is managed correctly.
Day to day, you'll provide proactive support to the Section Manager, helping to coordinate tasks, maintain accurate information, and ensure key administrative processes are completed efficiently. You'll also work closely with other Section Administrators, sharing knowledge, supporting one another, and contributing to a positive team environment.
If you enjoy being organised, working collaboratively with others, and knowing that your contribution helps a wider team perform at its best, you'll find this a rewarding role where your support and attention to detail make a real difference every day.
