Job Summary
Giraffe Distillers is hiring a Warehouse & Inventory Controller to manage stock accuracy, goods-in inspection, and purchasing support across our two Lincolnshire sites. This is a full-time, permanent role suited to someone with previous warehouse or inventory experience who's comfortable using stock/ERP systems and Excel. A full UK driving licence is required, as the role involves regular travel between our Louth and Scawby sites. Key Responsibilities
Warehouse Operations
- Load and unload delivery vehicles and tankers safely and efficiently.
- Transfer materials between Annex A and B warehouses as required (Louth / Scawby).
- Receive, store, and dispatch raw materials, packaging components, and finished goods.
- Ensure warehouse areas are maintained in a clean, organised, and safe condition.
- Operate material handling equipment in accordance with company procedures and training.
- Support production activities through the timely provision of materials and packaging.
Inventory Management
- Maintain accurate stock records using the company’s inventory management systems.
- Conduct routine cycle counts and periodic stock takes.
- Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies.
- Monitor stock levels and communicate replenishment requirements.
- Manage stock rotation using FIFO principles where applicable.
Goods Inwards Inspection
- Carry out incoming goods inspections against specifications and purchase orders.
- Verify deliveries for quantity, quality, and compliance.
- Quarantine and report any non-conforming materials.
- Complete and maintain goods receipt documentation.
Stock Reporting
- Produce regular stock reports for management.
- Monitor inventory trends and identify potential stock shortages or excess stock.
- Support monthly and annual stock reconciliation activities.
- Provide inventory data to support production planning and financial reporting.
Purchasing Support
- Raise purchase orders for designated materials, consumables and transport.
- Liaise with approved suppliers regarding deliveries and order status.
- Monitor supplier performance and delivery reliability.
- Assist in sourcing alternative suppliers when required.
Health, Safety & Quality
- Comply with all company Health & Safety, Food Safety, and Quality Management requirements.
- Ensure warehouse operations support BRCGS, HACCP, and relevant regulatory standards.
- Participate in audits and inspections as required.
- Report hazards, incidents, and non-conformances promptly.
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Previous warehouse, stores, or inventory control experience.
- Good understanding of stock management principles.
- Experience using inventory or ERP systems. (Brewman preferred)
- Competent in Microsoft Excel and stock reporting.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Full UK driving licence (essential - required to transfer materials and stock between the Louth and Scawby sites).

Desirable
- Forklift Truck Licence (desirable - training can be provided to the successful candidate if not currently held).
- Experience within food, beverage, distilling, or bottling industries.
- Knowledge of FIFO, GMP, HACCP, and BRCGS requirements.
- Experience with purchasing or supplier management.
