This is not a traditional workshop technician role.
Your role will combine workshop-based installations with mobile fitting across Yorkshire, working from our York and Leeds workshops as well as visiting customers' homes and local vehicle dealerships.
You'll need to enjoy working independently, solving problems on-site and providing excellent customer service.
Your responsibilities will include
- Installing hand controls, steering aids and left foot accelerators
- Installing boot hoists and access equipment
- Installing dual control systems for driving instructors
- Servicing and repairing vehicle adaptations
- Testing completed installations
- Demonstrating equipment to customers
- Visits to dealerships and customers
- Advising customers & vehicle dealerships about adaptations
- Assisting with the Mobility side of the business when required
Full manufacturer & in house training will be provided.
About the person
- The ideal candidate must be reliable, trustworthy & organised
- Able to work independently after training
- Someone who can work on their own initiative as well as be a strong team player
- Possess an excellent eye for detail and take pride in quality workmanship
- Have the ability to follow manufacturer's instructions and overcome any discrepancies as they may arise with experience gained through training
- Be patient, understanding and willing to go the extra mile with a 'can do' positive attitude
- Must have a polite telephone manner, be IT literate and a good communicator
- Professional with customers, delivering exceptional customer service
- No experience necessary however you must be confident using hand & power tools. Some mechanical / engineering / auto electrical experience in an automotive setting or similar would be beneficial
- A full driving licence is required
Whether you've worked as an installation engineer, service engineer, vehicle technician, auto electrician, mechanical fitter or in another practical engineering role, we'd love to hear from you.
Full training will be provided, including the safe removal and refitting of vehicle components such as trim panels, steering wheels and airbags where required.
A basic understanding of vehicle electrics would be advantageous. Experience with fabrication or welding is beneficial but not essential.
