We are looking for a Commercial Manager who can take ownership of commercial strategy, contract management and business growth initiatives. You will work closely with operations, finance, sales and client service teams to maximise profitability while maintaining strong customer relationships and delivering sustainable business performance.
This role is suited to an experienced commercial professional who can balance strategic planning with practical execution. You will evaluate business opportunities, negotiate commercial agreements and support continuous improvements that strengthen operational and financial outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Commercial Strategy: Develop and implement commercial strategies that support business growth, profitability and long term customer relationships.
- Contract Management: Lead commercial negotiations, review contractual terms and ensure agreements align with business objectives and company policies.
- Business Development: Identify new market opportunities, develop commercial proposals and support the acquisition of new clients.
- Financial Performance: Monitor revenue, margins, operational costs and commercial performance against agreed business targets.
- Pricing Management: Prepare pricing models, quotations and commercial proposals that remain competitive while protecting profitability.
- Client Relationship Management: Build strong relationships with key customers and ensure high levels of client satisfaction throughout the contract lifecycle.
- Risk Management: Identify commercial, contractual and operational risks and recommend effective mitigation strategies.
- Cross Functional Collaboration: Work closely with finance, operations, procurement and customer service teams to deliver commercial objectives.
- Performance Reporting: Prepare regular reports covering sales performance, contract status, profitability and commercial forecasts.
- Process Improvement: Review commercial processes and recommend improvements that increase efficiency and support sustainable growth.
- Team Leadership: Provide guidance and support to commercial team members while promoting collaboration and accountability.
- Stakeholder Communication: Present commercial updates, recommendations and business opportunities to senior management and key stakeholders.
What We Are Looking For
- Experience: At least 6 years of experience in commercial management, business development, contract management or a related commercial role.
- Education: Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Finance, Economics or a related discipline.
- Commercial Knowledge: Strong understanding of commercial strategy, contract negotiation, pricing, business development and financial performance.
- Negotiation Skills: Demonstrated ability to negotiate commercial agreements and build long term customer relationships.
- Financial Awareness: Experience interpreting financial reports, managing budgets and evaluating commercial performance.
- Leadership: Ability to lead cross functional teams, manage priorities and support organisational growth.
- Project Management: Experience coordinating commercial initiatives from planning through successful implementation.
- Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyse business data, identify trends and recommend practical commercial improvements.
- Communication: Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills with the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders.
- Technology Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, customer relationship management platforms, enterprise resource planning systems and reporting tools.
- Problem Solving: Ability to resolve commercial issues quickly while balancing customer expectations and business objectives.
- Professional Approach: High level of integrity, commercial judgement and accountability when managing contracts and confidential business information.
Pay: £52,000.00-£70,000.00 per year
