We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Dance Teacher to join our vibrant educational team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in dance instruction, combined with experience working with children and young learners. This role involves delivering engaging dance lessons that promote physical activity, creativity, and confidence among students of various ages. Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver age-appropriate dance lessons tailored to students’ skill levels and interests
- Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages creativity and self-expression
- Manage behaviour effectively through positive behaviour management techniques
- Assess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback to support their growth
- Incorporate elements of physical education, creative writing, or other relevant subjects into dance activities when appropriate
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, participation, and progress for each student
- Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and colleagues regarding student development and upcoming events
- Organise performances or showcases to celebrate student achievements and promote community engagement
- Ensure all lessons adhere to health and safety standards, including appropriate warm-up and cool-down routines
Qualifications
- Proven experience in teaching dance or related arts disciplines, preferably with children or young learners
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage students of diverse backgrounds
- Experience in special education or working with children with behavioural or learning needs is desirable
- Knowledge of behaviour management strategies suitable for classroom settings
- Skills in proofreading, creative writing, or tutoring are advantageous for developing engaging lesson plans
- Background in early childhood education, preschool experience, or teaching physical education enhances suitability for this role
- Childcare experience is beneficial for fostering a nurturing environment
- Demonstrated ability to organise activities effectively and manage classroom dynamics confidently
