Job Summary
Join our team and help in various tasks including Fish Processing, Warehouse, Cold Store, and Driving. In this role, you will cover processing fresh fish, various warehouse and cold storage operations, and safely operating vehicles to ensure timely delivery and distribution. This position offers an opportunity to work for a family business that has operated on the Fylde Coast for 3 generations.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and process fish products according to established safety and quality standards, including filleting, portioning, and packaging.
- Manage inventory in the warehouse and cold storage facilities, ensuring proper stock rotation and storage conditions.
- Operate refrigerated vehicles safely to transport fish and frozen food products between our site and delivery points.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization within the cold store, processing areas, and warehouse to meet food safety regulations.
- Assist with loading and unloading stock, verifying quantities against delivery documents.
- Follow all food safety protocols during processing, storage, and transportation to ensure product integrity.
- Support team members in food preparation tasks as needed, contributing to a collaborative work environment.
- various cleaning duties from fish processing areas to general house keeping.
Qualifications
- Experience in food production or culinary environments is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of fish processing techniques and food preparation processes.
- Familiarity with food safety standards and regulations applicable to cold storage and processing facilities.
- Prior restaurant or kitchen experience is a plus, demonstrating comfort working with food handling equipment.
- Valid driving license .
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for inventory management.
- Training will be provided in all areas.
