We design and manufacture high-quality solid timber furniture for the hospitality and commercial sectors, supplying restaurants, hotels and leading UK brands. As demand continues to grow, we're looking for a Furniture Production Maker to join our workshop team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with some workshop experience who wants to develop their skills within a growing business.
This is an initial fixed-term contract of 5 months, with the potential for extension or a permanent position for the right candidate, depending on workload and business needs.
The Role
You'll be part of a friendly workshop team manufacturing high-quality solid timber tables and furniture for the hospitality and commercial sectors.
This is a production-based manufacturing role, focused on the high-volume manufacture of restaurant tables using established processes and repeatable production methods. The work involves carrying out manufacturing operations consistently and accurately to produce furniture to an exceptional standard.
While this isn't a bespoke furniture-making position, it still requires craftsmanship, attention to detail and pride in producing a high-quality product. We're looking for someone who enjoys practical workshop work, takes satisfaction in producing excellent results, and understands the importance of consistency, efficiency and quality.
You'll be involved in machining, assembly, sanding, preparation for finishing and quality control, using solid timber and a wide range of professional woodworking machinery.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Around 1–2 years' experience in a furniture, joinery or woodworking workshop, or a relevant furniture-making or joinery qualification
- A good understanding of woodworking techniques and workshop practices
- Confidence using a range of woodworking hand and power tools
- Willingness to learn and develop new manufacturing skills
- Good attention to detail and pride in producing quality work
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
Personal Qualities
- Reliable, punctual and hardworking
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Good problem-solving skills
- Flexible and able to support different areas of the workshop when required
- An interest in quality craftsmanship and sustainable manufacturing
Desirable (but not essential)
- Experience operating woodworking machinery
- Previous experience within furniture manufacturing or joinery
- Forklift licence
- First Aid or Health & Safety training
