Duties
- Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote independence and comfort
- Support with medication administration following prescribed schedules and safety protocols
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary requirements and preferences
- Provide companionship and emotional support to reduce feelings of loneliness or isolation
- Help with light housekeeping tasks including laundry, cleaning, and organizing personal spaces
- Drive clients to appointments, errands, or social activities safely and reliably
- Manage behavior challenges with patience and effective behavior management techniques
- Document care provided accurately in client records and report any changes in health or wellbeing promptly
Skills
- Prior experience in assisted living or home care environments demonstrating patient-centered support
- Strong understanding of dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, hospice care, and senior care needs
- Knowledge of nursing practices including medication administration and basic first aid skills
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals
- Ability to handle heavy lifting safely when assisting with mobility or transfers
- Valid driving license for reliable transportation to various client locations
- Compassionate caregiving attitude with a focus on respecting client dignity and independence
- Flexibility to adapt to different care routines and client preferences
