Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly dedicated and experienced Early Childhood Centre Manager to join our team at a nursery in Holywood. As the Centre Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth day to day operations of our day nursery which includes a beach and forest school site, providing a safe nurturing environment for children aged 0-12 including a registered pre school and pre pre school. The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing a nurturing and educational environment for young children.
1. Day-to-day Wellbeing: Prioritize the wellbeing of children and staff by overseeing the daily operations of the centre, ensuring the implementation of policies and procedures, and maintaining a safe and secure environment.
2. Curriculum Provision: Working alongside the Head of Early Years in implementing a comprehensive and age-appropriate curriculum that promotes holistic child development, including educational, social, emotional, and physical aspects.
3. Team Management: Lead and manage a team of dedicated early childhood educators, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities to enhance their skills and knowledge.
4. Customer Service: Foster positive relationships with parents and families, ensuring effective communication, addressing concerns, and providing excellent customer service.
5. Collaboration: Work collaboratively with three other day care managers in regular monthly meetings and training sessions to share best practices, exchange ideas, and ensure consistency in service delivery.
6. Support from Head Office: Collaborate with the head office team, who are responsible for all finance, HR, and regulatory matters, to ensure compliance and receive support in administrative tasks, allowing you to focus on the core day to day responsibilities of the role.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Degree in Early Years (highly desirable)
- Level 5 qualification in Early Childhood Education or equivalent .
- Minimum of two years of experience in a managerial role within an early childhood education setting.
- Experience in beach or forest school (or outdoor focused) environments is highly beneficial.
- Experience in pre-school and pre-pre school provision is preferred, although we have an experienced pre school leader on site so it will be to add support where required
- Excellent knowledge of early childhood development principles and best practices.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with staff, parents, and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and contribute to a positive work culture.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and priorities.
- Ability to work independently and make informed decisions.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing needs and circumstances.
- First aid certification and safeguarding training are desirable.
- Must hold a clean drivers licence
