Unlike many training providers, we don't just place you on a waiting list.

Working with children is a career like no other. Every day you'll help young people learn, build confidence, develop new skills and reach important milestones.
As an apprentice you'll:
✅ Earn a wage while training
✅ Gain valuable workplace experience
✅ Work towards an SVQ Level 3 qualification
✅ Receive one-to-one support from an experienced assessor
✅ Become a fully qualified Childcare Practitioner
What You'll Be Doing
Working alongside experienced childcare professionals, you'll:
- Create fun and engaging learning experiences
- Support children's development through play
- Deliver activities linked to the Curriculum for Excellence
- Promote children's wellbeing, safety and inclusion
- Build positive relationships with children and families
- Support snack, lunch and mealtimes
- Enjoy outdoor learning and play in all weather conditions
About the Apprenticeship
- SVQ Level 3 Social Services (Children and Young People)
- Typically completed within 12 months
- Fully work-based qualification
- Employed directly by the nursery
- Ongoing support from L&G Learning throughout your journey
Upon successful completion, you'll be recognised as a qualified Childcare Practitioner, opening the door to long-term career opportunities within the childcare sector.

Funding
This apprenticeship is funded through Skills Development Scotland, with full funding available for eligible candidates aged 16-19.
