Yard Assistant / Groom
We are looking for a hardworking, experienced and reliable horseman or horsewoman to join our busy equine hospital team.
The successful candidate will assist with:
- Stable management
- Grooming, feeding and caring for hospital in-patients
- General yard maintenance
- Cleaning and painting
- Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment
You will be working with a wide variety of equine patients, so you must be confident handling horses of all types, including those that may be difficult or challenging. A firm, calm and compassionate approach is essential.
The ideal candidate will:
- Have several years' experience working with horses
- Be confident handling difficult horses
- Be trustworthy, honest and reliable
- Have excellent timekeeping
- Be flexible and willing to work as part of a team
- Take pride in maintaining high standards of horse care and yard presentation
For the right candidate, this role could provide an excellent stepping stone towards a Veterinary Nursing career within an equine hospital.
Hours
- 40 hours per week
- Monday to Friday or Tuesday to Saturday (negotiable)
- Shifts: 7:00 am – 4:00 pm or 9:00 am – 6:00 pm
