We're opening an exciting brand-new Food-to-Go business in Kirkintilloch and we're looking for experienced Food-to-Go Team Members to become part of our opening team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who already has experience working in a bakery, café, deli, coffee shop, sandwich bar or other fast-paced Food-to-Go environment and would love to be involved in a completely new operation from day one.
We'll be serving a range of freshly prepared sandwiches and baguettes, hot food, breakfast and lunch options, snacks and barista-style hot drinks.
We're looking for friendly, energetic people who understand that great Food-to-Go is about much more than simply serving food – it's about quality, speed, cleanliness, presentation and fantastic customer service.
What You'll Be Doing
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Preparing fresh sandwiches, baguettes and other Food-to-Go products.
- Cooking and preparing hot food using commercial catering equipment.
- Setting up attractive, well-stocked food displays.
- Serving customers quickly, efficiently and with a smile.
- Following portion sizes and preparation procedures.
- Monitoring food throughout the day and replenishing products when required.
- Rotating stock and checking dates.
- Helping minimise food waste.
- Completing temperature and food safety checks.
- Following allergen and cross-contamination procedures.
- Maintaining excellent cleaning and hygiene standards.
- Receiving and putting away deliveries.
- Helping with opening and closing procedures.
- Supporting colleagues during busy breakfast and lunchtime periods.
About You
Previous experience in Food-to-Go, bakery, café, deli, coffee shop or a similar food environment is required for this position.
We're particularly interested in hearing from people who:
- Have hands-on experience preparing and serving food.
- Understand the importance of food hygiene and allergen procedures.
- Are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
- Have excellent standards of cleanliness and presentation.
- Are friendly and confident dealing with customers.
- Are reliable and punctual.
- Can work well independently as well as part of a team.
- Notice when something needs doing without always having to be asked.
- Take pride in the food they prepare and the service they provide.
A current Food Hygiene qualification would be an advantage, although additional training will be provided.
Working Hours
We have both full-time and part-time opportunities available.
Our Food-to-Go business will trade across the daytime and early evening, so applicants should be able to work a mixture of shifts.
Early morning and weekend availability will be particularly important.
Exact hours and shift patterns can be discussed at interview.

Please note: This position requires previous relevant Food-to-Go, bakery, café, deli, coffee shop or similar experience. Applications without relevant experience are unlikely to be shortlisted.
Pay: £12.75-£13.25 per hour
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Kirkintilloch, East Dunbartonshire: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
