Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Youth Football Coach to join our community sports programme. The successful candidate will be responsible for our U9 age group planning, organising, and delivering engaging football sessions for young players and leading Saturday morning matches. This role offers an excellent opportunity to inspire children, develop their sporting skills, and promote teamwork and sportsmanship in a positive environment. The position is paid and suitable for individuals with a background or interest in sports coaching and teaching.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement age-appropriate football training sessions that focus on skill development, teamwork, and enjoyment.
- Lead organised drills, games, and activities to foster physical fitness and tactical understanding.
- Provide encouragement and constructive feedback to players to enhance their confidence and performance.
- Ensure the safety of all participants by maintaining a secure environment during training sessions and matches.
- Promote fair play, respect, and positive behaviour among young athletes.
- Communicate effectively with parents or guardians regarding player progress and upcoming events.
- Collaborate with other coaches and programme organisers to plan seasonal activities and tournaments.
Requirements
- Proven experience in sports coaching, preferably within youth sports or football with a FA Level 1 minimum.
- Strong teaching skills with the ability to motivate children of various ages and skill levels.
- Excellent organisational skills to plan engaging sessions that meet developmental needs.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions during training sessions and matches.
- Valid DBS check or willingness to undergo one prior to employment.
- Passion for youth development through sport, with a positive attitude and good communication skills.
- Basic first aid knowledge is desirable but not essential; training can be provided if necessary. This role offers an enriching environment where you can make a meaningful impact on young people's lives through sport while developing your coaching expertise within a supportive community setting.
Pay: £15.00-£30.00 per hour
