Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals in a care home or home care setting, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills in English and have a genuine desire to make a positive impact on the lives of those in their care.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and meal preparation.
- Support the implementation of care plans tailored to individual needs and preferences.
- Communicate effectively with residents and their families to ensure understanding and satisfaction with care provided.
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in residents' conditions to senior staff.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge related to care practices and IT systems used within the facility.
- Drive residents to appointments or social activities as required, ensuring their safety during transport.
- Foster a warm and supportive environment that promotes dignity and respect for all residents.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a care home or home care setting is desirable but not essential.
- Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written, are required for effective interaction with residents and team members.
- Ability to understand and implement care plans accurately.
- Basic IT skills for maintaining records and using electronic systems as needed.
- A valid driving licence is preferred for transporting residents when necessary.
- A caring attitude with a commitment to providing high-quality support to individuals in need.
