This is a rare and exciting opportunity to support teachers and students in a creative environment at an innovative and forward thinking music college in Brighton. This role would suit candidates with teaching experience and experience of working with young people with special educational needs (SEND). SupaJam Brighton opened with 7 students and now supports a cohort of 50 (and growing!) with a focus on real life experiences in the creative music industry.
We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Maths Teacher to join our team at our Brighton base due to continued growth. This full-time role is ideal for someone who understands the life-changing impact that mathematical confidence can have on a young person’s future, nurturing problem-solvers, creative thinkers, and resilient learners. You’ll play a key role in planning and delivering engaging lessons, supporting assessment, and helping students build skills that open doors both in and out of the classroom. This is more than a teaching job, it’s an opportunity to ensure every young person leaves college with the tools and mindset they need to take on the world.
We're looking for:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, or a Level 5 teaching qualification (or willingness to undertake Level 5 DiT Training).
- Experience teaching Maths at Primary, Secondary, or Further Education level.
- Experience working with NCFE and Pearson Edexcel exam boards, with knowledge of Functional Skills Maths and/or GCSE Maths syllabuses.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Proficient with Google systems, including Google Classroom, Google Sheets, and Google Docs.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- Comfortable working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Calm, patient, and supportive, particularly with learners who may find Maths challenging.
- Proactive in professional development and open to ongoing training.
- Passionate about helping young people with special educational needs to achieve their potential.
- An interest in creative cross-curricular projects or the wider school community is desirable.
