Vita Healthcare Bexhill is a large, forward-thinking Practice with three sites in Bexhill, and a fourth in the nearby village of Ninfield. We are looking for a Clinical Coder to join our friendly team.
We are looking for someone who:
Has excellent interpersonal, communication and IT skills, is forward thinking and has a can-do attitude. A willingness to learn and develop is essential. Previous GP practice or healthcare admin experience is desirable but not essential, as full training wil be provided.
About the Role
To be responsible for the scannning and read coding of relevant information into patients’ electronic healthcare records on the clinical system.
As a Clinical Coder you will work closely with your colleagues and clinicians to ensure that all medical diagnoses, procedures, and treatments are coded accurately and in a timely manner. The post holder may also be required to undertake a wide range of administrative duties, to contribute to the smooth running of the practice and provide support to the whole multidisciplinary team.
Primary responsibilities
- Accurately clinically coding data on the clinical system into the patient record
- Identifying relevant clinical information documented in patient correspondence, coding appropriately and completing any detailed actions
- Inputting and extracting data as required to support practice reports
- Filing and storing records as required
- Photocopying documentation as required
- Actioning all incoming correspondence, emails and mail in a timely manner
- Scanning patient related documentation and attaching scanned documents to patients’ healthcare records
- Inputting data into patients’ healthcare records as necessary
- Answering incoming telephone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the caller’s request appropriately
- Carrying out system searches as requested
- Supporting all clinical staff with general administrative tasks as requested
- Undertake all mandatory training and induction programmes
Pay: £12.71 per hour
