About Us: At Berwick Service Station, we are a small, friendly, and independent garage that prides itself on delivering excellent customer service and high-quality workmanship. Our team is dedicated to keeping vehicles running smoothly for our loyal customers. We are looking for a qualified MOT Tester to join our busy workshop. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out MOT tests in line with DVSA regulations, ensuring all vehicles are inspected safely, accurately, and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct MOT testing in line with current regulations and ensure vehicles meet required safety standards
- Perform routine maintenance, including oil changes, brake checks, and tyre replacements
- Provide accurate reports and advice to customers on vehicle health and required work
- Identify vehicle faults and advise on necessary repairs
- Ensure all work is completed to a high safety and quality standard
- Maintain a clean and organised MOT bay and workshop area
- Assist with light mechanical work when required
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- Valid MOT Tester licence
- Full UK driving licence
- Previous experience working as an MOT Tester
- Strong attention to detail and knowledge of DVSA testing standards
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desirable Skills:
- Experience with a wide range of vehicle makes and models however this is not essential
- Ability to assist with all areas of the workshop
