IWS Recruit are currently recruiting for 3 experienced Commissioning Engineers to join a leading manufacturing and engineering business based in Blackburn.
This is an exciting opportunity for experienced Test or Commissioning Engineers, particularly those with an electrical background and knowledge of LV switchgear, to join a growing and technically focused team.
The successful candidates will be involved in the commissioning and testing of modular solutions both in-house and on-site, working alongside technical teams, contractors and clients to ensure projects are delivered safely, accurately and to the required standards.
The Role
As a Commissioning Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out commissioning and maintenance works both in-house and on customer sites
- Testing and commissioning modular solutions and associated LV switchgear
- Developing and executing first-of-kind (FOK) testing alongside the Commissioning Manager and Technical Team
- Assisting with the integration of equipment into modular solutions
- Liaising with contractors and other stakeholders on commissioning requirements
- Completing certificates and documentation required for client handover
- Supporting and witnessing testing with clients where required
- Monitoring works and providing updates and reports on project progress
- Working effectively with colleagues, contractors and other project teams
- Providing technical input into designs and construction where appropriate
- Identifying potential risks, areas of concern and reporting these to management
- Maintaining high standards of quality, health, safety and environmental compliance
- Ensuring PPE and work equipment are used correctly and maintained in good condition
- Supporting the development, knowledge and training of other engineers
About You
We're looking for experienced and motivated Commissioning or Test Engineers who are comfortable working in a busy and technically demanding environment.
The ideal candidate will:
- Have previous experience in a Commissioning Engineer, Test Engineer or similar role
- Hold a relevant Level 3 Electrical / Engineering qualification
- Ideally have an electrical background, preferably as a qualified electrician
- Have proven knowledge and experience of LV switchgear
- Be self-motivated, conscientious and enthusiastic
- Have excellent attention to detail and the ability to work accurately to deadlines
- Be comfortable working in a busy and sometimes pressurised environment
- Have a flexible approach and be able to work effectively with other engineers, contractors and clients
- Have a strong understanding of QHSE requirements
Desirable Experience
The following experience would be advantageous:
- Data Centre experience
- PDU experience
- Experience working with modular solutions
- Level 4 HTQ Engineering qualification
