About Us
Simply Cleaned is an established laundry and dry cleaning business operating across three sites in Bournemouth. We provide dry cleaning, service washes, ironing and commercial laundry services to domestic and business customers, including a collection and delivery round. Following the expansion of our Wallisdown branch, we are looking for an experienced operative to join the team.
The Role
You will be a key member of the team at our Wallisdown branch, handling the full range of laundry and dry cleaning work from counter to completion. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who takes pride in the quality of their finished work and can manage their own workload through the day.
Key Responsibilities
- Operating dry cleaning machinery, including loading, solvent care and routine maintenance checks
- Spotting and pre-treatment of stains, including identifying fabrics and selecting the correct process
- Pressing and finishing of dry cleaned garments to a high standard
- Operating commercial washers, dryers and ironing equipment for service washes and commercial work
- Sorting, tagging, bagging and quality checking orders ready for collection or delivery
- Serving customers at the counter, taking in orders and handling payments
- Keeping the workspace clean, safe and compliant with health and safety requirements
- Assisting with stock checks of consumables and reporting equipment faults promptly
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience operating dry cleaning equipment and a working knowledge of dry cleaning processes, including spotting and finishing
- Experience in a commercial laundry or dry cleaning environment
- Good attention to detail and consistent quality of work
- Reliable, punctual and able to work with minimal supervision
- Comfortable dealing with customers face to face
Desirable
- Experience with garment pressing equipment (steam press, form finisher or hand iron finishing)
- Knowledge of solvent handling and associated health and safety practices
- Experience using an EPOS or shop management system
