Overview
We are seeking a professional Temporary Contract HGV Class 2 Driver to join our team to cover a long term absence.
The successful candidate will be responsible for safely operating a flatbed lorry to deliver goods across various locations. This role offers an excellent opportunity for experienced drivers with a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and customer service. The position involves delivering goods in a timely manner while adhering to all relevant road and safety regulations.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a Class 2 HGV lorry, primarily with a flatbed trailer, ensuring compliance with all legal and safety standards
- Plan and execute delivery routes efficiently, maintaining punctuality and professionalism
- Load and unload goods, ensuring items are secured properly during transit
- Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to identify any maintenance or safety issues
- Complete all necessary documentation accurately, including delivery notes and logs
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules and any unforeseen delays
- Maintain the cleanliness and organisation of the vehicle at all times
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with flatbed lorries or similar vehicles
- Must have strong driving skills with a clean driving licence for HGV Class 2 vehicles
- Delivery driver experience is highly desirable, demonstrating reliability and punctuality
- Good knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for commercial vehicle operation
- Excellent organisational skills to manage routes and schedules efficiently
- Ability to work independently, demonstrating professionalism and attention to detail during deliveries
