Responsibilities
- Lead and manage daily operations within your designated nursery room, ensuring a warm, welcoming atmosphere for children and families.
- Supervise and support a team of childcare practitioners, fostering teamwork, professional growth, and high-quality service delivery.
- Plan and implement engaging early childhood activities that promote learning, development, and social skills in accordance with early childhood education standards.
- Maintain clear communication with parents and guardians, providing updates on children’s progress and addressing any concerns promptly.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and safeguarding policies to create a secure environment for children and staff alike.
- Oversee record-keeping related to children’s development, attendance, and daily routines to ensure accurate documentation.
- Drive continuous improvement by participating in staff meetings, training sessions, and quality assurance processes to uphold best practices in childcare.
Skills
- Proven management and leadership skills with experience overseeing a team in a childcare or nursery setting.
- Strong communication skills in English to effectively liaise with children, parents, colleagues, and external partners.
- Extensive experience working with children in early childhood education or childcare environments; nursery experience is highly desirable.
- Deep understanding of child development principles and best practices in early childhood education.
- Ability to foster positive relationships with children and their families through empathetic listening and clear communication.
- Valid driving license is preferred for transporting children or attending off-site activities when necessary.
- A genuine passion for childcare combined with professionalism, patience, and a proactive approach to leadership.
