Painter & Decorator
Location: Army Foundation College, Harrogate (Static Site)
Hours: 40 hours per week
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, working any 8-hour shift between 6:00am and 6:00pm
On-Call: 1 week in 4 (Monday–Sunday) – £150 standby payment plus a minimum of 2 hours' pay if called out
The Opportunity
We're looking for an experienced Painter & Decorator to join the on-site facilities team at the Army Foundation College in Harrogate. This is a permanent, static role on a large MOD estate comprising 23 buildings and 137 residential properties, offering a varied workload and excellent long-term job security.
Working as part of an established maintenance team, you'll carry out planned and reactive decorating works to help maintain the site to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Internal and external painting and decorating
- Surface preparation, filling, sanding and making good
- Minor plaster patch repairs
- General building fabric maintenance
- Completing planned and reactive maintenance tasks
- Ensuring all work is completed safely and to a high standard
- Accurately completing maintenance records
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience as a Painter & Decorator
- Experience working within commercial, industrial or public sector buildings
- Good knowledge of health and safety
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Full UK Driving Licence preferred
