Responsibilities
- Install, test, and maintain electrical wiring, fixtures, and equipment in accordance with safety regulations and technical specifications.
- Troubleshoot electrical issues using hand tools and power tools, diagnosing faults efficiently.
- Perform routine inspections to identify potential hazards or malfunctioning components.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints to execute installation or repair tasks accurately.
- Ensure all work complies with current electrical codes and safety standards.
- Collaborate with other tradespeople and project managers to complete tasks on time and within scope.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, materials used, and inspections carried out.
Skills
- Proficiency in using hand tools such as pliers, screwdrivers, wire strippers, etc., for precise electrical work.
- Experience operating power tools including drills, saws, and cable cutters safely and effectively.
- Strong electrical experience with the ability to read technical diagrams and schematics confidently.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail when diagnosing faults or hazards.
- Good organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently while adhering to safety protocols.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in dynamic environments. Candidates should possess relevant electrical experience along with a solid understanding of safety procedures related to electrical systems. A valid qualification or certification in electrical installation is preferred but not essential for entry-level applicants willing to learn on the job.
