PURPOSE
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
New Business & Commercial Leadership
- Lead the Procurement and Supply Chain workstream across new business opportunities, bids, tenders, renewals and strategic client propositions.
- Translate client requirements, contractual commitments and operational challenges into commercially viable supply chain solutions.
- Provide subject matter expertise across Procurement, Inventory, Supplier Management, Demand Planning, Supply Chain Quality Assurance, Product Quality and Supply Chain Operations.
- Identify and evaluate appropriate supplier markets, sourcing strategies and commercial models.
· Lead or support supplier engagement, tendering, negotiations and commercial evaluations.
· Develop supplier strategies that optimise cost, service, inventory, quality, resilience and innovation.
- Ensure appropriate contractual, commercial and operational protections are incorporated into supplier arrangements.
- Benchmark best practice and emerging market developments to ensure TVS propositions remain competitive.
· Lead continuous improvement initiatives arising from new business implementations and client requirements.
· Identify opportunities for automation, digitalisation, analytics and improved system utilisation.
- Support senior client presentations, solution workshops and commercial negotiations where Procurement and Supply Chain expertise is required.
- Build strong relationships with senior client stakeholders throughout the sales, solution design and implementation lifecycle.
- Ensure the team is resilient, scalable and capable of supporting multiple concurrent opportunities and implementations.
- Conduct annual performance reviews and regular 1-2-1s, providing coaching, feedback and development support.
2. Solution Design, Supply Chain Modelling & implementation
- Lead the development of Procurement and Supply Chain models for new business opportunities – internally and externally with clients.
- Model demand, product requirements, supplier structures, inventory, service levels, lead times, operating costs, working capital and resource requirements.
- Support the development of total cost-to-serve models, identifying purchase, inventory and operational cost implications.
- Quantify anticipated savings, productivity improvements, working capital benefits and other commercial gains.
- Work closely with the SCQA Manager to ensure proposed Procurement and Supply Chain solutions align with the agreed Quality strategy, standards, policies and governance requirements.
- Ensure solution designs are scalable and capable of supporting future client growth and changes in demand.
- Drive- transformation & continuous improvement-Challenge existing processes and develop innovative solutions that improve service, reduce cost and increase efficiency.
- Ensure Procurement and Supply Chain solutions are integrated with wider operational, technology and commercial models.
- Ensure lessons learned from supplier and product quality issues are incorporated into future bids, solution designs and implementation approaches.
- Identify opportunities for product standardisation, substitution, rationalisation and catalogue optimisation without compromising agreed quality requirements.
- Ensure product range and inventory strategies remain commercially viable while meeting agreed client, operational and quality requirements.
- Establish clear baselines, targets, KPI’s and measurement methodologies before implementation.
- Ensure benefits are sustained beyond mobilisation and embedded into normal operational governance.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Degree-level education or equivalent professional experience in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business, Logistics or a related discipline.
- Significant leadership experience within Procurement, Supply Chain, Commercial or a related environment.
- Proven experience supporting or leading new business, bids, tenders, solution design and implementation within procurement, sourcing, supplier management, inventory, forecasting and end-to-end supply chain.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to understand the relationship between price, cost, service, working capital, risk and profitability.
- Experience of business modelling, scenario analysis and development of commercial business cases utilising strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Proven experience of successful mobilisation and implementation of new contracts or operating models, with strong project and programme management skills.
- Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, including experience working with senior clients and internal leadership teams.
- Strong negotiation and supplier management capability.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent bids, projects and implementations in a fast-paced environment.
- Highly analytical with advanced Excel and data analysis capability with a good understanding of ERP, Procurement, inventory and Supply Chain technology.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Full driving licence and willingness to travel to clients and operational locations.
