Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Motor Mechanic to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a variety of motorised equipment and vehicles. Duties
- Conduct routine maintenance and inspections on various types of vehicles and machinery to ensure operational efficiency.
- Diagnose faults using schematics, mechanical knowledge, and diagnostic tools.
- Repair or replace faulty components using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and assembly techniques.
- Perform heavy lifting tasks safely when handling large parts or equipment.
- Utilise welding skills for repairs requiring metal fabrication or joining.
- Follow technical manuals and schematics to accurately assemble or disassemble parts during repairs or maintenance.
- Maintain detailed records of repairs, maintenance schedules, and parts used.
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining repair issues and solutions clearly to clients or team members.
- Assist in the training of junior staff or apprentices as required.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Motor Mechanic or in a similar mechanical role.
- Strong understanding of schematics, mechanical systems, and assembly processes.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other maintenance tools.
- Knowledge of equipment repair procedures and routine maintenance practices.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work in physically demanding environments.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Good organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Customer service skills to communicate effectively with clients and team members.
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in automotive or mechanical engineering are preferred but not essential.
