DDG Plating is a small metal finishing factory based in New Basford, Nottingham, looking for a reliable, hardworking and enthusiastic Production Operative to join our team.
This is a full time position available with an immediate start and would equally suit a female or a male, young, mature or retraining person…any age if you’re fit in mind and body.
If you are a well-organised person that likes to keep busy and doesn’t mind getting your hands dirty, this might be just the job for you.
What you'll be doing:
- Meeting and greeting customers and visitors to the business
- Answering, dealing with and forwarding all the calls and enquiries
- Booking jobs in / out (computer online system), following factory procedures
- Providing general administrative support as needed
- Ensuring orders meet specifications on drawings/orders
- Loading/unloading goods (use of forklift / pallet truck / lifting boxes…)
- Working safely and following company procedures including H&S and environmental procedures
- Work closely with colleagues to meet production schedules and delivery deadlines
- Preparation of components prior to electro-plating, loading and unloading components onto plating jigs / wiring
- Handle components carefully to prevent damage throughout the production process
- Inspecting finished components to ensure quality standards are met, ensure they meet customer drawings and specifications
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment
What we're looking for / Skills:
- Good communication skills with clear spoken English (dealing with telephone enquiries); proactive, with old school values
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Basic IT and maths skills
- Multitasking, flexible, fit and able
- Reliable, conscientious, and good time-keeper
- ‘Can do’ attitude with a good attention to detail
- Ability to work well on their own using their own initiative, as well as part of a team
- Capable of operating a forklift and pump track (training will be given)
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment using good time management
- Ability to undertake manual handling duties and lift up to 25Kg
