Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Care Assistant to join our care home team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, excellent communication skills, and a genuine passion for providing high-quality care to our residents. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of elderly individuals, supporting their independence and wellbeing.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and support care staff, ensuring the delivery of compassionate and professional person centred care
- Assist residents with daily activities such as personal hygiene, mobility, and medication management in accordance with care plans
- Develop, implement, and review individualised care plans in collaboration with residents and their families
- Monitor residents’ health and wellbeing, recognising any changes or concerns promptly
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided and report any incidents or issues to senior management
- Lead by example to promote a positive, respectful, and safe environment within the care home
- Organise and participate in staff training sessions to uphold high standards of care
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, healthcare professionals, and team members to ensure seamless care delivery
Requirements
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience within a senior care or care home setting
- Strong understanding of senior care needs and best practices
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to develop and manage care plans tailored to individual needs
- IT literacy for maintaining accurate records and documentation
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine interest in eldercare
- Organised, proactive, and capable of supervising a team effectively
- Registration with the SSSC
- To have or be willing to work towards Level 7 award in health and social care
