Stretton Nursing Home is a private nursing home situated three miles from Hereford City Centre and half a mile from Burghill village. We are a 44-bed nursing home, all on one level, set within four and a half acres of beautiful landscaped grounds.

We are looking for a positive, friendly person with a cheerful outlook and a 'can do' attitude who enjoys being part of a team but is also able to work independently.
As our Activities Co-ordinator / Receptionist, you will play a key role in enhancing the wellbeing of our residents by providing a varied programme of meaningful activities and social stimulation, while also acting as the welcoming face of the home.
Main Responsibilities
Activities
- Plan, organise and deliver a varied programme of activities to meet the individual interests and needs of residents.
- Encourage residents to participate in activities that promote wellbeing, independence and social interaction.
- Arrange and book external entertainers, outings and special events.
- Assist with seasonal celebrations, fundraising events and community engagement.
- Contribute to the home's newsletter and display activity information around the home.
- Maintain accurate records relating to activities and complete relevant care plan documentation.
- Work closely with care staff and relatives to ensure activities are person-centred.
Reception
- Welcome visitors, residents' families and healthcare professionals in a friendly and professional manner.
- Answer and direct telephone calls promptly and courteously.
- Take messages and ensure they are passed on accurately.
- Receive and distribute incoming post and deliveries.
- Assist with general administrative duties including filing, photocopying and maintaining records.
- Help keep the reception area tidy, welcoming and organised.
- Support the Home Manager and wider team with day-to-day administrative tasks as required.

- Have good organisational and time management skills.
- Be confident using basic computer systems and Microsoft Office.
- Be able to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team.
- Have a genuine interest in supporting older people to live fulfilling lives.
- Previous experience in activities, reception, administration or care would be an advantage but is not essential.
A satisfactory DBS check will be required for this role. If you are subscribed to the DBS Update Service, this will be accepted. You will also be required to provide suitable references.
Hours: Part-time – 28 hours per week over 4 days.
